I have placed some bets on the william hill website after starting a new account……….I have just received an email saying I need to verify my age, will the account be made unavailable to me if I do not do so and will I not win my money or be able to collect it? You have a few things going on here:
1) it appears like you are asking this question from the USA.
Online gambling is illegal in the USA, so you are conspiring with William Hill to violate US laws.
( not only are you liable for taxes on your winnings, but actually placing the bet is a crime)

2) William Hill’s website makes it very clear that they require proof of age and identity. They can, at any time ask again for proof, engage a 3rd party to verify your age and ID, and put any suspicious account on hold – or cancel it. Yes – this means they can take your money, or turn it over to the government for disposition.
