The PokerStars download is without a doubt the best online poker software available. Fittingly, Poker Stars also offers its players what is considered the best VIP rewards system in all of online poker today, which is built around the amassing of VPP and FPP points.
Let’s have a look at how it works: VIP Player Points and Frequent Player Points, better known as VPPs and FPPs are the cornerstone of the PokerStars Rewards program. By taking part in games in which the betting is done with real money you will be earning certain amounts of VIP Player Points. VPPs are then exchanged into FPPs, or frequent player points at a rate which depends on. Higher VIP levels collect FPPs at much faster rates than a lower VIP level player would.
Poker Stars’ VIP system has 6 possible levels, which are reached by earning set amounts of VIP player points on either a monthly or yearly basis depending on the level. The levels are referred to as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Supernova and Supernova Elite. Of the six, 4 are a monthly thing while the last two will last until at least the following year. Each level gets its own unique rewards available right within the VIP store. Certainly, the higher your VIP level, all of the VIP store will magically get ready for purchasing using your hard earned FPPs. The rate at which you collect FPPs will increase as well, compared with a lesser VIP level.
As stated before you will be earning FPPs through participating in the various real money games PokerStars offers, in the ring game or tournament of your choice. For every $1 that you pay upon entering the tournament of your choice you will be earning 5.5 VPP which in turn has to get multiplied by your current VIP level’s multiplier to determine how many FPPs you get. The lowest level, Bronze, has a 1.0 multiplier, Silver VIP level has a 1.5 multiplier, Gold gets twice as many FPPs as VPPs, Platinum gets two and a half times as many FPPs as VPPs, Supernova benefits of having a multiplier of 3.5 and finally Supernova Elite level which gets five times as many FPPs as VPPs. To illustrate, if you take part in 2 tournaments each having a buy-in of $10+1, 11 VPP will be going your way, because 2 x 5.5 = 11 VPP. A Gold VIP level player would then receive 11 x 2 = 22 FPPs, while a SN player would be getting 38.5 FPPs, because 11 x 3.5 = 38.5 FPPs, for the same two tourneys. As you can undoubtedly see, the higher your VIP level, the faster you will be earning VPPs by participating in the same games.
You will also be able to earn VPP points while playing in ring games at rates that depend how many seats there are at the table. Every table that has 8 or more seats will award 8.5 VPPs per raked dollar which is in turn split among the players who were dealt into the hand. A table that has room for less than 7 players to play on it will give out a total of 5.5VPP per dollar raked split equally among all who were dealt into the hand. And then just apply the multiplier to know how many FPPs you should be getting.
A lot of items can be found within the Poker Stars.com VIP store, and can be bought using nothing but FPPs. You will find many more items in the store than you’ve ever felt a need for, with anything between: RSA tokens that enable two-factor authentication; autographed books, including ones from authors such as Sklansky, Schoonmaker and Negreanu; a plethora of bonuses, from small to very very large ones; a Porsche Cayman S; exclusive poker accessories such as cards and timers; electronic equipment, such as DVD players and iPod Touches; PokerStars exclusive clothing, including customized shirts; poker DVDs; and Tournament tickets and entries into various tournaments both live and online, including the WSOP and the SCOOP.

All these items were discovered to be a good deal.
VIP store items that you should avoid like the plague are: $50 cash bonus; Laptops, including the Sony Vaio and the Macbook Air; Nintendo Wii; and the Sony portable DVD player. These items reside on the opposite spectrum of value.
